Murray Dobbin has been a freelance journalist, broadcaster and author for thirty-five years. He is also a leading activist and analyst in the movement against corporate globalization. He has written extensively on various trade agreements and their impact on democracy and on neo-liberalism's attack on social programs.
He is a research associate and board member with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and has published six studies for the Centre including examinations of the Canadian tax system, charter schools and a study, "In Defence of public services." His book, the Myth of the Good Corporate Citizen, has been described as a citizen's guide to globalization. His latest book, "Paul Martin: CEO for Canada?" detailed the prime minister's corporate agenda for Canada.
He is a past executive board member of the Council of Canadians and a policy analyst for the Council, the largest citizens' organization in Canada.
He writes a column for the on-line Vancouver paper theTyee.ca and writes guest editorials regularly for the Globe and Mail.
He is a frequent public speaker, and workshop organizer, addressing union and other audiences on a wide range of topics. His most recent focus is the new initiative of Canadian big business, called "deep integration" (the gradual annexation of Canada by the US) and public private partnerships. |
