Rabble.ca"rabble.ca was built on the efforts of progressive journalists, writers, artists and activists across the country. We launched rabble on April 18, 2001, just before the protests against the Summit of the Americas in Quebec City, and leapt onto the Net with the kind of coverage you could only get from the point of view of the rabble. We have covered events and issues in ways you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else ever since. " Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada is one of Canada’s largest unions, representing all kinds of workers, from one end of the country to the other. Canadian Federation of Students and the Canadian Federation of Students-Services were formed in 1981 to provide students with an effective and united voice, provincially and nationally. Canadian Union of Public Employees represents workers in health care, education, municipalities, libraries, universities, social services, public utilities, transportation, emergency services and airlines. International Trade Union Confederation calls on the workers of the world to unite in its ranks, to make of it the instrument needed to call forth a better future for them and for all humanity. Public Citizen fights for openness and democratic accountability in government, for the right of consumers to seek redress in the courts; for clean, safe and sustainable energy sources; for social and economic justice in trade policies; for strong health, safety and environmental protections; and for safe, effective and affordable prescription drugs and health care. Friends of Canadian Broadcasting is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Canadian culture and identity on radio and television. FRIENDS is not affiliated with any broadcaster or political party. National Farmers Union is Canadian farm families sharing common goals. Each family member - farmer, spouse and children, ages 14 to 21 - are full members of the Union and enjoy all rights and privileges within the Union. This structure recognizes that every family member contributes to the farm by working on it, or providing supporting income through off-farm employment. Amnesty International - Canada has more that 67,000 members and thousands more active supporters in communities, schools and networks across the country. They are part of a worldwide movement of people dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights. Alternatives North is a social justice coalition operating in the Northwest Territories. Within their ranks are representatives of churches, labour unions, environmental organizations, women and family advocates and anti-poverty groups. Egale Canada is a national organization committed to advancing equality and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-identified people, and their families, across Canada. Egale has members in every province and territory of the country. The Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada (CCAAC) is dedicated to working together for the right of all children to access a publicly funded, inclusive, quality, non-profit child care system. The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is the national organization representing First Nations citizens in Canada. The AFN represents all citizens regardless of age, gender or place of residence. The David Suzuki Foundation works to find ways for society to live in balance with the natural world that sustains us. Focusing on four program areas – oceans and sustainable fishing, climate change and clean energy, sustainability, and the Nature Challenge - the Foundation uses science and education to promote solutions that conserve nature and help achieve sustainability within a generation. Sierra Club of Canada's mission is to develop a diverse, well-trained grassroots network working to protect the integrity of our global ecosystems. Campaign for Democratic Media (CDM) is a network-structured, education- and campaign- oriented, movement-building, national, non-profit and non-partisan media reform organization. |
