Ten years strong and growing
In June 1996, with support from a passionate group of founding members, the Council of Canadians launched a new program – the Citizens’ Agenda Fund (CAF). The CAF program is designed to provide the financial means for the Council to undertake crucial long-range political analysis and planning in addition to more immediate campaign work.
Thanks to the generous support and commitment of its members, over the last 10 years the fund has been instrumental in strengthening the Council’s research capacity, developing far-reaching public education work, and expanding our network of grassroots local chapters. This has allowed the Council to be even more efficient and effective in our campaigns to bring about the better Canada, and better world, we know are possible.
We salute our 2005 CAF members for their extraordinary generosity and offer them our warmest thanks. And in celebration of this 10th anniversary, the Council of Canadians pays special tribute to those founding CAF members who have remained in the program throughout the years.
