Groups unite to defend Fish Lake on World Water Day

What:
A Rally will be held at the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency’s public hearings which, begin on World Water Day (March 22nd) in Williams Lake. The hearings will begin reviewing a proposal on that day by Vancouver-based Taseko Mines Limited for a large open pit gold-copper mine called Prosperity Mine.
Who:
The rally is co-organized by Tsilhqot’in National Government and the Council of Canadians, and endorsed by Canadian Union of Public Employees BC's Environment Committee, Friends of Clayoquot Sound, Friends of Nemaiah Valley, Indigenous Action Movement, Watershed Watch Salmon Society and the Wilderness Committee.
When:
Monday, March 22nd (World Water Day) at 4:00 pm (PST)
Where:
Cariboo Memorial Recreation
525 Proctor Street, Williams Lake, BC
Why:
To defend Teztan Biny (Fish Lake) along with the local watershed from being destroyed by Taseko Mines Ltd’s proposed Prosperity Project.
