First civil society gathering on Security and Prosperity Partnership to be held in Ottawa
WHAT:
On March 31, Ottawa will host Integrate This! – The first civil society gathering on the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP).
A few weeks ago, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay and other high-ranking government officials and business leaders from Canada, the United States and Mexico met in Ottawa to advance the SPP agenda. Now, the Council of Canadians, the Canadian Labour Congress and the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives are bringing together activists, academics, workers, politicians, journalists and concerned citizens from Canada, Mexico and the United States to challenge the Big-Business vision of North American integration contained in the SPP.
