Monthly Giving – The Canada Plan
The Canada Plan is the Council’s monthly giving program. Members authorize the Council to make monthly withdrawals from their bank account or credit card in an amount of their choosing. Canada Plan members receive Canadian Perspectives magazine throughout the year, as well as other expressions of our appreciation.
The Canada Plan is a vital component of our fundraising efforts. Steady support from our members enables the Council to plan ahead, and to work on urgent issues as the need arises. It helps to reduce our administrative costs, so we can devote more of your contribution to our vital campaign work.
The Council of Canadians refuses money from government, corporations and political parties. We therefore depend on individuals like you to provide us with the support we need to protect Canadian social programs, culture, resources and sovereignty.
“I am happy that I am able to contribute to the Council of Canadians as a monthly donor,” says Canada Plan member Leticia Adair. “Having worked in the non-profit sector for many years, I understand the stability that predictable and continuing donations bring to an organization. By contributing on a regular basis, I know that I’m part of a group of people who support and believe in the Council of Canadians’ work.”
As a monthly supporter you authorize the Council of Canadians to make monthly withdrawals from your chequing account on the 1st of each month, or from your credit card on the 15th of each month.
Our guarantee: You can cancel or alter your monthly contribution at any time simply by contacting us.

“I prefer using the monthly contribution option for two reasons,” says Canada Plan member Colleen Fuller. “First, it is more convenient than an annual gift. I know that each month I contribute an amount I feel comfortable with and which I can afford. Secondly, I know it’s going to a really effective organization and is supporting a solid group of activists across the country. Every day I see how my contribution is being put to good use.” |
