Citizens' Agenda Fund
Established in 1996 in response to a tremendous surge in membership, the Citizens' Agenda Fund (CAF) was created to protect the long-range goals and vision of the Council of Canadians. It allows the Council to examine how Canada will look five, 10 or even 20 years from now, and what issues and threats Canada will be facing. This long-range vision accompanied by larger donations from CAF members allows the Council to research, organize and implement our campaigns more efficiently and effectively.
Any Council member may become a CAF member through contributing $500 or more (or $40 or more per month) in a given year. As with regular Council memberships, CAF memberships are valid for one year. Throughout the year these members are entitled to receive such varied tokens of appreciation as signed books from Maude Barlow, complimentary copies of research reports and special invitations to meetings and events in their area. As well, once a year the Council publishes the list of our CAF members from the past year in our magazine, Canadian Perspectives (requests for anonymity are honoured), as special recognition for their support.
Citizen's Agenda Fund members on our monthly Canada Plan have their membership automatically renewed each year.
If you have not already done so, please consider becoming a Citizens' Agenda Fund member of the Council of Canadians. For more information contact Jamian Logue at
