Workshop 12

Movement, Theatre and Social Change

Description

This workshop aims to foster creative direct action skills through the use of movement and theatre. Participants will explore visual and non-verbal forms of messaging, storytelling and education through the use of their bodies and plot building. The workshop will begin with a short introduction to Augusto Boal’s philosophy of the Theatre of the Oppressed to demonstrate how theatrical re-presentation of a desired reality can help to mobilize people to making that fictitious reality, real.

Leader

Rehana Tejpar, Ottawa Street Theatre Collective
