You are invited to join us for a night of dialogue about the future of Saskatchewan Oil Sands Industry. National Speakers form both sides of the issue will help us understand the complex and timely topic of the Tar Sands and its role in Saskatchewan. Dr. Carolyn Preston will speak in favour of the Tar Sands as an energy source and Andrew Nikiforuk will speak against expansion of the industry without national targets for renewable energy, oil revenue reform and climate change action. The Tar Sands development tin Saskatchewan will have far reaching implications into all of our lives. Com learn the facts and form your own opinion.
The debate will be a moderated presentation/rebuttal style showdown of the facts followed by a question and answer period.

Dr. Carolyn Preston is the Executive Director of the Petroleum Technology Research Centre in Regina. She holds a PhD from the University of Toronto and was recently awarded a Chevening Fellowship in the Economics of Energy from the University of Reading, England.
Andrew Nikiforuk is an award-winning journalist who has written about energy economic and the environment for the last two decades. He is the author of the recently published book. Tar Sands: Dirty Oil and the Future of a Continent.
These events are open to the public at no charge, but a collection plate will be passed.
