Cowichan Cowichan Chapter worked with Cowichan Carbon busters to collect 350 letters at Farmers Market
Delta/Richmond Climate change community forum on October 21 from 7-9:00 pm at Ladner Pioneer Library (4683 51 St. Delta [Ladner]). Showing "Blue Gold" documentary and planning for chapter participation on October 24. Door prizes donated by rabble.ca and energy saving light bulbs donated by The Power Smart Program for forum participants. Fair traded/organic coffee/tea and organic goodies. All welcome!

Guelph 350 Climate Festival, Saturday October 24 - Family friendly afternoon with many citizen action groups on hand, puppets, displays, music and the evening event will feature local folk singer James Gordon and speakers on climate change imperatives. Events indoors at St George's Church, downtown Guelph. 12-9pm.
Halifax Family-friendly get-together on the Halifax Common (by the Pavilion) at 2pm. Collective Action at 3:50pm to show support for strong government leadership and action on climate change. If possible, bring a 2x3 ft sign depicting your fears and passions regarding climate change. We suggest writing 350 on the back as the solution. London Free bus from London to Ottawa on October 24 to Fill The Hill. Please email canadiansforactiononclimatechange@bell.net to reserve your seat ASAP. Port Alberni Echo Centre, Sat. Oct. 24, 2:00-3:00 PM. A fast paced, humorous but serious presentation. There will be a petition to sign and we will be gathering for a group photo which will be sent to 350.org organizers to be broadcast at Times Square in New York, the UN and given to world leaders prior to the Copenhagen Summit. Bring your families. There will be free refreshments.

350 Km Cycle Relay on Oct. 24. Ride one or more laps of the 10 Km course around the streets of Port Alberni. Register as an individual or join family and friends from your office, church, service club or other group by calling Ozzie's Cycle 724-6556. There will be tents, picnic tables and food set up at the relay start/finish line in front of Ozzie's.

Hike the Three Sisters Forest Trek. Meet at Coombs Country Candy at 9:00 AM for this 3 1/2 to 4 hour hike. Bring a lunch.

Saint John Climate (of) Change: rally for people and the planet. Join local, national, and international speakers in demanding climate action and climate justice NOW! October 24, 2009, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Market Square Boardwalk, Saint John, NB. This rally is part of the Council of Canadians' Annual General Meeting. www.canadians.org/AGM
Vancouver Saturday, October 24th 'Bridge to a Cool Planet' series of events. The chapter will march in the parade. Please meet in front of the Canadian Tire store at Cambie St. and 7th Ave. at 11:30 am (look for Norman and/or the yellow Council banner).
